Performance Consultant

Rita Chorba is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and an Athletic Trainer, serving as a Performance Consultant at Invictus. After more than a decade working with thousands of elite military and running athletes, she understands the needs of people who push the limits of their bodies yet also need to stay productive for the long haul.

Rita earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Baldwin Wallace University, a master’s degree in physical therapy from Cleveland State University, and a master’s degree in athletic training from the University of Findlay. She continued her education by earning a doctorate in physical therapy from Texas Tech University and is board-certified as a sports clinical specialist.

Rita began her professional career at the University of Arizona, serving as the head athletic trainer for the track and field and cross-country teams. Her ability to rapidly identify and treat running-related pain helped several athletes under her care achieve NCAA All-American, Olympic, and professional accolades. Rita transitioned from a career in athletics to supporting the military population, serving as a lead tactical physical therapist for the US Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command. She currently works with helicopter pilots and crew members of the US Army Special Operations Command. Her special interests include root cause diagnosis of pain and injury and readiness enhancement to extend the lifespan of the Athlete, Marine, and Soldier. 

Rita’s work has been featured in several publications, including the International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy, the Journal of Special Operations Medicine, the International Society of Sports Nutrition, and the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research. She is a contributing columnist to the US Marine Raider Association Raider Patch Magazine and writes about maintaining physical resilience for career longevity.
